This page explains what information bytheoceans.com collects when you visit or use the enquiry forms on the Restaurant and Experiences pages, and what happens to it.

What we collect

When you fill in and send a booking or enquiry form, we collect whatever you enter: your name, email address, phone number, and any notes you add. We don't collect anything else about you, and the forms don't work unless you submit them yourself.

Separately, the site keeps simple daily totals so we can see how it's doing: how many times each page was viewed, and how many times the call, WhatsApp and Facebook buttons were tapped. We also note the type of each booking request (for example "table reservation"), the date asked for and the party size, without your name or contact details. These totals use no cookies and store nothing that identifies you or your device.

What we use it for

Only to respond to your request; to confirm a booking, answer a question, or follow up about an event, tour, or reservation. We don't use it for marketing, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

Who we share it with

• Resend, the service that delivers the confirmation email you receive after submitting a form.
• Cloudflare, which hosts this website and runs the form submission itself.

Both only see what's needed to do that one job. Neither is authorized to use your information for anything else.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they look at, but only if you accept the cookie notice shown on your first visit. Accepting sets a cookie and shares your IP address and general location, device and browser type, and the pages you view with Google; declining means none of that happens. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't combine it with anything you enter into a form. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser (the notice reappears), or opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The other outside connection every page makes is to Google Fonts, to load the typefaces used on the site; Google may log the request the way any server logs a visit.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details live in the inbox they were sent to for as long as is useful for handling your booking, and are deleted on request (see below).
